Sunrise’s Problem Gambling Program educates the community and peers on the issues facing individuals who identify that gambling has become a problem, while providing supports, trainings and resources to address the issue.
At Sunrise we provide direct support and outreach for individuals struggling with gambling. Problem Gambling 101 (PGAM 101) is a training that covers the signs of problem gambling, the correlation between problem gambling and mental health/substance use struggles, what recovery looks like, and how to access local/ online support and resources.
For peer support specialists and recovery coaches, we offer several training options. PGAM 101 and a standalone Harm Reduction training provide foundational tools for recognizing gambling-related harm and supporting people in your community.
We also offer a quarterly 6-hour comprehensive training covering harm reduction, PGAM 101, and lesser-known forms of gambling including cryptocurrency. No prior gambling knowledge is required.
